| Prior to her academic career Dr Bree Carlton was involved in community radio broadcasting and worked as a freelance producer for the ABC Radio National Social History Unit.
Dr Carlton is currently a Lecturer in Criminology at Monash University. She has researched and written articles and chapters for publication in the area of histories of punishment, particularly high-security and supermax prisons, deviance management and the impacts of criminal justice policy and practice on individuals and communities.
