Anita Mackay
 

Anita Mackay is a PhD Candidate at the Faculty of Law at Monash University, whose doctoral research focuses on the prerequisites necessary for achieving human rights compliance in Australian prisons. She is also a Research Assistant on the Applying Human Rights in Closed Environments: A Strategic Framework for Compliance Australian Research Council Linkage project. Anita has published articles about sexual harassment, harm suffered by children in immigration detention and the Alexander Maconochie Centre prison in the Australian Capital Territory. Prior to commencing her PhD, Anita worked for the Commonwealth Attorney-General’s Department in a range of policy areas including family law and access to justice.
