Cameron Stewart did his law and economics degrees at Macquarie University and worked as a legal research officer and judge’s associate in the Supreme Court of New South Wales, before becoming a commercial litigator in a large Sydney law firm. He studied for a masters of law at Sydney University and went on to complete his doctorate there which is concerned with law and end-of-life decision-making. He began teaching law at University of Western Sydney (1998-1999) and then later at Macquarie University (1999-2008), where he acted as Dean of Law in 2008. He is now Associate Professor in the Centre for Health Governance, Law and Ethics at Sydney Law School and Honorary Associate Professor in the Centre for Values Ethics and the Law in Medicine in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Sydney. His main interests are in dying and the law, guardianship law, human tissue regulation, property law and equity.
